Vanadurgi Flavours and Extracts Pvt. Ltd. has initiated to cultivate Organic and Fair-Trade Cocoa with buy- back arrangements. Our project includes  building a  high tech Cocoa processing centre at Shimoga with  a capacity of 500 metric tonnes per annum.  We are promoting Cocoa cultivation mainly as inter crop in Arecanut & Coconut gardens.

Vanadurgi Foundation is coordinating activities between the company and the farmers through various programs. The company is providing  free seedlings, organic inputs and technical guidelines for cultivation.

As of now the company is purchasing fresh cocoa pods from farmers of North Kanara, Shimoga and Davangere districts and has a associated curing centre at Shimoga.  The growers are given the maximum possible bonus price for organic and fixed price for Fair-Trade certified Cocoa.
