Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia) Vanadurgi’s organic Vanilla plantations are grown in the ideally situated areas and are India’s best natural Vanilla producing zone. The crop is grown conventionally. The vanilla plantations are intercropped in-between Arecanut plantation which is the ideal shade plant for Vanilla.  There are 1500 to 2500  trees in a hectare. A good growth of   small plants on the stem is noticed and these are good feeder plants for Vanilla. The income is there from both Areca nut and Vanilla from one area which share the expenses of cultivation.  Hence there is double income in one location which in turn results in reduced production costs for both the crops.
